I don’t usually like to give out figures because every project is different and I like to tailor my prices to meet the needs of the client’s job, but just so you can get an idea, here are 3 basic scenarios and prices.
This includes the shoot which is usually 30min to an hour and a half, a few on a plain backdrop and some outside. The best images are uploaded to a password protected online gallery on jimmyamerica.com and you pick your 6 favorites to be retouched, I will e-mail you the 6 retouched, then all the images from your shoot are delivered on disk.
This is for the traditional business man/woman sitting up straight on a 45 degree angle with a nice smile on plain backdrop style of photo. We take a few shots of each person and deliver one retouched version per person. Again I create a password protected gallery that people will get to choose their photo off of.
These are usually when small companies have promotional events or when families have events they want to remember such as reunions or major birthdays. I take any specific photos that you ask for as well as general candid shots amongst your guests. The photos are delivered on disk and a few of them will have various effects that will be discussed before hand
These are just basic guides for you to base the cost of your job off of. Say for example you’re a starving student and need acting headshots, but don’t need 6 images to choose from, we can work out a price that includes retouching of just one or two images.
If your job requires equipment to be hired or travel fees, these will be built into the cost of the quote.
All of my quotes are 100% obligation-free but if you choose to go ahead with the job, I will require a non-refundable 20% deposit to hold your date. If you are more than an hour late, miss the date entirely or cancel within 24 hours of your shoot then you won’t be getting this back. In some emergency situations a last minute reschedule can be organised, but don’t bank on this. If you need to reschedule (which I understand sometimes happens) then you will need to get in touch 24 hours BEFORE the shoot was scheduled.
I try to keep my prices low because I honestly feel like a great photo is something everyone should be able to afford. Provided they are maintained properly a photo lasts a lifetime, so it should be a great one.
I am able to keep my prices down by shooting out of my Melbourne CBD apartment instead of a studio, using portable gear instead of costlier fixed equipment and my assistant is also my business partner. I do use professional equipment (as well as a few DIY solutions) and if you need proof of my results then the images in my portfolio speak for themselves.
